Conversation overheard in elevator

Three other people sharing the elevator were discussing a documentation error.  One of them explained that a consultant had been brought in to write that documentation, but had been “thrown out the window”.

I asked, “are we actually allowed to defenestrate contractors?”

Maybe we can only do that when no one is looking.

I think this may be the first time I’ve been able to work the word “defenestrate” into a real conversation.

One Response to Conversation overheard in elevator

    Elevator:
I was sent to repair a computer in the Denver Federal Center about 1983. When the elevator door open, I notice the man in the elevator. He was a professional looking guy in a suit, the only odd thing was the ball and chain attached to his ankle. I must have looked quite shocked as I contemplated the intellegence of entering an elevator with a main wearing a ball and chain, when he told me not to worry, it was a normal office procedure when someone got married to wear the ball and chain for a day.
