Logitech V450 Laser Cordless Mouse for Notebooks

I previously wrote about using the Logitech V200 cordless notebook optical mouse with my laptop. My only complaint with the V200 was that while the receiver snaps onto the bottom of the mouse for storage (and powers off the mouse in the process), it doesn’t stay securely fastened. I suggested that Logitech should design a future version so that the receiver is stored more securely in a slot in the mouse, and they’ve done precisely that with the Logitech V450 Laser Cordless mouse for notebooks.

The V450 mouse is about the same size as the V200, but with more concave sides. The receiver slides into a slot at the bottom rear of the mouse. The laser gives higher resolution. As with the V200, the V450 works fine with Linux and Windows without installing any special drivers, although Windows drivers are provided and give additional capabilities such as low-battery reporting.
