My grade for the Linear Algebra course showed up online yesterday (and was an A as expected), so I went to De Anza college this morning and picked up some official transcripts, and dropped one off at Mission College this afternoon with a transcript evaluation request form and the $5 transcript evaluation fee. They take ten working days to do the evaluation, so it should show up as transfer credit by August 31, and be included in my cumulative GPA.The official release date for grades for the Mission College summer session is August 30, so on the 31st I should be able to get an Mission College transcript showing a 3.12 cumulative GPA. Then I can send that, a De Anza transcript, and transcripts from my old college and university work along with my transfer application to the UIS BSCS program. The CS department starts evaluating applicants on September 15, and notifies Admissions by October 1st.
I still need to meet with Dr. Lam, the chairman of the Mission College Mathematics Department, to ask him to sign off that the mathematics courses I took at other institutions satisfy the A.A. in Mathematics degree requirements. Then I’ll need to file the application for the degree by October 31st.
Then I’ll finally be able to say “I’m a college gra… gra….” See, I can’t yet say it.
