At some point one of the hubcaps on my car disappeared. I’m not sure if it fell off on the road somewhere, or was appropriated while the car was parked. With my old car, an inexpensive econo-box, I went for years with a missing hubcap and never worried about it. But I take more pride in my new car, and the missing hubcap has been bothering me. So I finally went to the GMC dealer and got a replacement, GM part number 9595216, for approximately $35 plus tax. On the one hand that seems like a lot of money for a roughly ten inch diameter piece of molded plastic with a very thin piece of sheet metal wrapped around it. But on the other hand, I’d expected GM to want a lot more than that for it.
I inquired about a replacement jack since I managed to break the original. I’ve looked at jacks at auto parts stores, and although they are of better quality than the factory-supplied jack, they will not fit in the compartment for the original. However, GM wants nearly $100 for a replacement, and I haven’t decided whether I want to spend that much. Perhaps I can get the right model from a junkyard.
GOOD LUCK ON FINDING A REPLACEMENT JACK HANDLE. I HAVE TRIED ALL OF THE SALVAGE YARDS IN MY AREA AND TRIED FINDING ONE ON THE INTERNET. NO SUCCESS. IF YOU FIND A PLACE THAT SELLS THE POUCH AND 4 PIECE HANDLE LET ME KNOW
Try Nordstroms Automotive. If they don’t have it listed in their eBay store, give them a call. They sold me a replacment jack without the tool set, but they had the tool set as well.
On ebay you can find them at:

Type “jack” in the “Store Search” box.
It seems $35.00 is too much for a hob part=9595216.
I agree. I later found out that the hub cap is available for order from GM Parts Direct for $21.68.
