The source code is at <a href="http://www.brouhaha.com/~eric/software/read9144/download/read9144.zip" rel="nofollow">http://www.brouhaha.com/~eric/software/read9144/download/read9144.zip</a>. This was a quick hack, and I do not consider it to be production-quality code. We were able to read some tapes successfully, though Al later found that it has trouble with HP backup tapes that have end of file set on the first block.

Eric,

I am in a situation where I am trying to copy archaic HP tape files to a PC.
I'm wondering how successful your program was in reading your cartridge
tapes. What are the chances I can get a copy of your source code? If we
use it, I would give you honorable mention to my company for helping us out.
We were hoping we could use a GPIB sniffer while copying from one drive to another,
but it looks like that may be a problem according to your post. So, I'm just
trying to look into any way I can to get these files copied to a PC.

Thanks,
Brad
