Two friends and I went out to dinner and a movie in Palo Alto tonight. We had a wonderful dinner at Evvia; I had the Katsiki Yiouvetsi, which is a goat casserole braised with pearl onions, artichokes, and feta cheese. I’d never had goat meat before, and found it to be quite tasty. [...]

I had a cup of New England style clam chowder, the seared ahi tuna entrée, and the crème brulee. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent.. The suboptimal way to enjoy a milkshake
0 Comments Published by Eric April 13th, 2008 in Comestibles, The Suboptimal WayOn the way to a friend’s house, I went to a drive-through and ordered a burger and a shake. I still had the several-day-old remainder of a beverage in the cupholder that I needed to dispose of, but there was a waste can just beyond the pickup window, so after I got my order [...]
Autographed SF 49ers team picture stolen from Steven’s Cheesesteaks
0 Comments Published by Eric August 8th, 2007 in Blog/website/news comments, ComestiblesSeveral times a week I eat at Steven’s Cheesesteaks in Sunnyvale. The restaurant is decorated with a lot of pictures and memorabilia relating to Philadelphia, but there is also an autographed 1990 San Francisco 49ers team picture. Or at least there was, until some miscreant stole it sometime between 7 and 8 PM [...]

I [...]

0 Comments Published by Eric April 12th, 2007 in ComestiblesWhen I’m found dead, they won’t have to perform an autopsy. The cause will be an overdose of Ben and Jerry’s new flavor, Bananas on the Rum. It’s currently only available from their “Scoop Shops.”
Had it existed at the time, Wierd Al Yankovic would have used this flavor instead in his song “I [...]
If you’re on a diet, don’t even think about Pepperidge Farm Cream-Filled Pirouttes. Are these actually still legal?
The Poor College Student Diet
1 Comment Published by Eric September 6th, 2006 in Comestibles, School & EducationBack when I was in college before, and always short of money, I did what many students have done over the years, and subsisted largely on one of the least expensive foods available, boxed macaroni and cheese. But when you think of macaroni and cheese, don’t think of the high-quality product from the likes [...]
Some coworkers and I were discussing diets, including vegetarian diets. I pointed out that I am a metavegetarian. When I eat animals, I try to only eat animals that are vegetarian. However, I make an exception for seafood; a strict metavegetarian would have to be very selective about that.
