Aw, the waiting game sucks; let’s play Hungry Hungry Hippos! — Homer Simpson

I finally got my application to UIS and all related materials ready, and shipped off via Fedex this afternoon, so the UIS admissions office should have it on Monday morning. If they think I’m a suitable candidate, they will forward my materials to the CS department, which selects a maximum of twenty applicants to the online program for the semester. Now that the ball is in their court, all I can do is wait patiently. I’m not good at waiting patiently, though, so the reality is that I will be impatiently waiting on tenterhooks with bated breath and much anxiety.

The CS department starts considering applicants on September 15, and notifies the admissions office of their selections by October 1. I hope that the admissions office notifies applicants fairly quickly thereafter, as due to the suspense I’ll probably be tearing my hair out (what little is left) and climbing the walls by then.
