The fall semester has started, and on Tuesday evening I went to the first session of HUMAN 007, International Film. This evening I had the first session of BIOSC 015, Human Heredity and Disease.

They lost my transcript!

Two weeks ago today, I paid $12 to De Anza College to get a “rush” official transcript, then took that transcript to Mission College and paid a $5 fee for transcript evaluation, which takes two weeks (no rush service available).
Today I went back to Mission College, waited in line 25 minutes, requested my copy of [...]

I had to go back to junior high school to take four classes I’d somehow missed, in order to satisfy requirements for my degree program, though I was worried that they might not accept them. Outside the school on the first morning I met the teacher from one of my classes back in 1978, [...]

I just committed the KML files and graphics for the HP-22 and HP-27, the graphics being based on Maciej Bartosiak’s graphics for other models.  I have poor graphic art skills, so the 27 artwork could be better.  But at least there’s finally something; I’ve had the ROM dumps for a long time but without suitable [...]

Nonpareil progress

I’m not Islamic, so I never expected to take a position defending Islam. But several people have forwarded me email purporting to explain how “good Muslims” cannot be “good Americans”. This is such a distortion of American law and liberty that I can’t let it slide.
The quoted sections below are from the original [...]

Exotic grass

My grandfather asked me to accompany him to the airport to examine a new exotic grass species which had been spotted there.  It was superficially similar to zoysia, but rather than a root structure forming conventional sod, it tended to grow along a line (not necessarily straight), with thousands of blades growing from a single [...]

My grade for the Linear Algebra course showed up online yesterday (and was an A as expected), so I went to De Anza college this morning and picked up some official transcripts, and dropped one off at Mission College this afternoon with a transcript evaluation request form and the $5 transcript evaluation fee. They [...]
