Adorable is in the eye of the beholder, apparently
Published by Eric January 10th, 2006 in Blog/website/news comments, RantsBoing Boing ran a story titled Adorable cyclops kitten. I think they’ve confused the adjective “adorable” with “disturbing and sad”. At least the poor thing’s littermate is reported to be healthy.

awwwwwwwww…..i went to boing-boing and saw the pic….how sad….
it looks like some of the morphed animal pictures that are published on the web…i can only hope that must maybe it was one of those…
it’s fake. since when do kittens open their eyes on the first day of life?
sure, there are genetic mutants, but this isn’t one of them. it’d take a very large number of mutations for such a creature to come about, which would likely be evident in it’s heritage, and that’d be assuming it’s ancestors were permitted to breed by their keepers, or somehow managed to hold on to some sort of competitive edge otherwise.
I suspected it might be fake, but since AP picked it up I’m waiting for more evidence one way or the other.
